Reviewing Palestinian laws and draft laws and ensuring that they conform with international human rights standards is one of the main concerns of ICHR, as stipulated in the Presidential Decree: “the commission will undertake to follow up and safeguard the requirements of protecting human rights in the various Palestinian laws, legislation and regulations.” ICHR examines existing laws and legislation to highlight their flaws and offers recommendations for either revoking or amending them. ICHR also follows-up the processes concerned with human rights drafting regulations for implementing the laws passed by the PLC.
