Monthly Report on Violations of Human Rights and Freedoms in Palestine April 2019
In April 2019, domestic violations continued at a varying pace. This Monthly Report highlights major human rights violations as monitored by the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR). Overall, the ICHR monitored the following violations:

- Compared to 17 in March 2019, the ICHR monitored 11 incidents of unnatural death in April 2019.
- The ICHR received 37 complaints on torture and ill-treatment in April 2019. The same number of complaints was filed in March 2019.
- In comparison to 88 in March 2019, the ICHR received 48 complaints on violations of the right to the due process of law and detention without guarantees of a fair trial in April 2019.
- Compared to 26 in March 2019, the ICHR received four complaints on governor-ordered detentions in the West Bank in April 2019.
- Compared to eight in March 2019, the ICHR received three complaints on unenforced or delayed enforcement of court decisions in April 2019.
- While one was monitored in March 2019, the ICHR did not document any death sentences in April 2019.
- In comparison to 21 in March 2019, the ICHR received one complaint on an abuse of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of the press and right to freedom of peaceful assembly in April 2019.
- The ICHR did not receive any complaints on violations of the right to freedom of movement and travel in April 2019. By contract, three complaints were filed to the ICHR in March 2019.
- As in March 2019, the ICHR received five complaints that involved attacks on public properties and persons in April 2019.
- Compared to four in March 2019, the ICHR received three complaints on seizure of private properties in April 2019.
- In comparison to six in March 2019, the ICHR received one complaint on an attack on academic freedoms.
- The ICHR did not receive any complaints against attacks on human rights defenders. Two complaints were lodged to the ICHR in March 2019.
