ICHR Warns of Incitement by Israeli Occupation Against Journalists in Gaza
The Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) warns against the incitement being carried out by Israel, the occupying power, against six journalists from Gaza who work for Al Jazeera. These journalists have been openly accused of engaging in what has been described as “military activities.”. ICHR considers this a serious and explicit incitement to violence against journalists working on the ground, particularly in northern Gaza, which is experiencing continuous mass extermination.
In light of this dangerous situation, which has witnessed the loss of many Palestinian journalists who have sacrificed their lives to reveal the truth about the ongoing crimes in Gaza for more than a year, ICHR calls on the international community, especially human rights organizations and United Nations institutions, to intervene immediately to protect Palestinian journalists. It also calls for the accountability of those responsible for war crimes against civilians, journalists, and their families.
